Check the edition before starting
Subtitle options belong to the viewing offer you select. Original language identifies the production; it does not list every translated track. Confirm the language you need, especially when watching outside the film's home market.
Read comfortably
Where the player supports customization, adjust text size, outline or background for your viewing distance. A television across the room may need a different setting from a phone in your hand.
Captions can contain more than dialogue
Closed captions may describe important sounds and identify speakers. That can help when listening quietly or when hearing the soundtrack is difficult. Ordinary subtitles and closed captions need not be identical.
If the timing slips
Pause and resume, then try another available track. If the problem persists only with that edition, report it through the viewing service. Changing unrelated catalog settings will not synchronize a destination player's subtitles.
