Do you want to laugh, follow a mystery or spend time with characters? Start there. Genre can narrow the answer, but the premise of a particular film is what makes the choice feel right.
Use three genuinely different possibilities
Save one recent film, one older title you missed and one lighter option. This creates a useful choice without filling My List with several versions of the same evening.
For a group
Agree on language, suitability and running time before arguing about ratings. Read the short descriptions together. The first premise that interests everyone is often worth trying.
For a series
Compare the tone of Panchayat, Mirzapur and a Korean drama before committing to a season. Keep the last completed episode marked so the next evening does not begin with guessing where you stopped.
